Shahid Kapoor, Kriti Sanon, and Rashmika Mandanna starrer Cocktail 2 finally hit theatres on June 19, and since then, it has been receiving a mixed response from the audience. Helmed by Homi Adajania, the film stars Shahid as Kunal, Rashmika as Diya, and Kriti as Ally. It follows a long-term couple whose relationship is shaken when a third person enters the fold. Recently, the makers of the film hosted a special screening, and Shahid’s wife and his constant cheerleader, Mira Rajput, was seen gracing it. Now, she has shared her thoughts on Cocktail 2, giving fans a glimpse of what she felt about Shahid’s latest release.
Mira Rajput, who is quite active on social media, took to her Instagram story and shared her thoughts on Cocktail 2. She shared a picture
of Shahid Kapoor, Kriti Sanon and Rashmika Mandanna from the screening and wrote a heartfelt note. Her note read, “Finally a great time at the movies! With the laughs, the emotion, the joy, the fun, the gorgeous frames and yet being strikingly real.” She also tagged the entire cast and the director. Have a look:
Meanwhile, Shahid recently reacted to Cocktail 2 being given an A certificate by the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC). During a social media interaction with fans, he questioned the adult rating and emphasised there was nothing objectionable in the film. He said, “Iss film ke andar koi bhi aisi cheez nahi hai jisse aap ko aapatti ho sakti hai. I know we have gotten an adult certificate; I am figuring out why. Mujhe nahi samaj mein aaya. Iss film mein teen logon ki kahaani hai. Sabke saath dekh sakte hain. (There’s nothing in this film that you would object to. I don’t understand why we received an A-rating. This is a story of three people that can be watched by everyone).”
News18 gave the film 2.5 stars. A part of the review read, “Cocktail 2 wants to bottle the upheavals of modern love but is too afraid of spilling any of it. For all its talk of complicated relationships and emotional infidelity, it remains too safe. The designer clothes and postcard-perfect locations stand out but this intoxication is fleeting. Once the high wears off, you’re left with a rom-com that’s little romance and even lesser comedy.”
