The India-Pakistan clash in the 2025 Asia Cup kept getting more heated by the minute, with several arguments, exchange of words, and even expletives hurled throughout.
A major incident broke out in the fifth over when Shubman Gill crunched a short-arm jab for a boundary against Haris Rauf. It was a short-length ball, and Gill played his bread-and-butter, hanging back and flat-batting it past mid-wicket.
As Gill was walking to fist-bump his partner Abhishek Sharma at the non-striker end, something ticked off the latter — it looked like Rauf said a few words — and he turned back to point fingers and argue aggressively with the Pakistani pacer. Watch it here:

Abhishek has been at the centre of all the heated action between the two teams. He started it as early as the first ball, when he pulled Shaheen Afridi for a six and then said a few words. Even Shubman Gill had a mini war of words with the left-arm Pakistani quick. Earlier in the above-mentioned Rauf over, Abhishek and the pacer were constantly chatting with each other before it broke out.
Eventually, Abhishek got out for 74 (39), trying a bit hit against spinner Abrar Ahmed but only getting it as far as long on. Incidentally, Rauf took the catch and threw it with full force at the pitch with anger.
He broke multiple records in that innings. The first of his five sixes, against Afridi, made him the first Indian batter to start two innings with sixes. He reached his half-century in 24 balls, which was the fastest for India against Pakistan, while he also became the fastest-ever to 50 sixes in the format.
He also did his job, as when he got out, India were 123/3 in 12.2 overs, needing only around run-a-ball, with Sanju Samson and Tilak Varma at the crease.
