Ticketless travel on Indian Railways is illegal, but a common issue. A recent viral clip shows a teacher from Bihar’s government school being found without a ticket. When the TTE asked her to move to an unreserved
coach or show a pass, she accused him of harassing her. After a short argument, she left her seat. A second video later surfaced online showing the woman arguing with the TTE at the station, along with her relatives and father. It was later revealed that she is from Deoria in Uttar Pradesh, not from Bihar and was fined Rs 990.
After the incident at the station, the Indian Railway Ticket Checking Staff Organisation (IRTCSO) expressed safety concerns. They questioned how a railway employee was openly given death threats in front of the RPF and asked for strict action. In response, the RPF tweeted that the station in charge at Deoria was instructed to take necessary action.
Safety Concerns Raised By Railway Staff
Sharing the video, IRTCSO wrote, “In the 18629 RNC GKP Exp, between SV and DEOS stations, a female passenger travelling without a ticket misbehaved with the TTE, and by calling her father and close relatives, attempted to drag the TTE from the moving train in front of the RPF while getting into a scuffle with him.”
Later, Deoria Police clarified that the woman seen in the viral video is Khushboo Mishra, travelling without a ticket in the AC coach of train 18629 Ranchi Express and was fined Rs 990. It was also revealed that Mishra is from Deoria in Uttar Pradesh but works as a government teacher in Bihar, currently posted in Siwan.

What Actually Happened Inside The Train And Railway Station
The first video showed a woman travelling in an AC coach without a valid ticket. When the TTE asked her to show her ticket or move to an unreserved coach, she argued that he was disturbing her. The TTE calmly told her to either show the ticket or leave. She refused to cooperate and kept arguing. At one point, she pretended to be on a phone call to avoid the discussion.
All this while, the TTE was recording and asked her again to show her ticket. She even tried to snatch his phone, but the TTE warned her not to touch and reminded her that she was on the wrong side. After the argument escalated, the TTE was able to get her off the train.

Another clip later emerged showing the same teacher confronting the TTE again, this time at a railway station and she was with her father. The situation escalated so much so that police officers and bystanders were forced to intervene.

The teacher can be heard accusing the TTE of harassing her, claiming he was recording and threatening her. She also alleged that he tore her ticket and threw it away. Someone in the background can be heard asking everyone to confirm the incident from other passengers. The teacher was still shouting that he was misbehaving and even followed the TTE while the train was moving.
