CM-Designate Satheesan Unveils Kerala Cabinet Ahead Of Oath-Taking: Check Full List Of Ministers

Kerala Chief Minister-designate VD Satheesan on Sunday unveiled the list of ministers for the new cabinet ahead of the swearing-in ceremony scheduled for Monday. The CM-designate said the final list was prepared after extensive discussions among United Democratic Front (UDF) allies, with emphasis on social and regional representation.

Senior Congress leaders Ramesh Chennithala, K. Muraleedharan and Sunny Joseph are among those set to join the cabinet. Satheesan himself will hold the finance portfolio in addition to serving as Chief Minister, while Chennithala has been assigned the home department.

The Congress nominees in the ministry include Sunny Joseph, AP Anilkumar, PC Vishnunadh, Roji M John, Bindhu Krishna, M Liju, T Siddique and OJ Janeesh. KA Thulasi has also been included in the cabinet, making her one of the two women ministers from the Congress.

The Indian Union Muslim League (IUML) ministers will include PK Kunhalikutty, PK Basheer, N Shamsudheen, KM Shaji and Abdul Gafoor. From coalition partners, CP John of the CMP, Shibu Baby John of the RSP, Anoop Jacob of the Kerala Congress (Jacob) faction and Mons Joseph of the Kerala Congress (Joseph) faction have also been inducted.

Thiruvanchoor Radhakrishnan To Be Assembly Speaker 

The alliance has named Thiruvanchoor Radhakrishnan as Speaker of the Assembly, while Shanimol Usman will serve as Deputy Speaker.

“There are many deserving leaders both within and outside the list. But a party like the Congress has to consider social balance, regional representation and several other factors while taking such decisions,” Satheesan said.
