Two Delta planes collided while taxiing at LaGuardia Airport in New York City on Wednesday. The incident left one aircraft with part of its wing detached, and a video of the same is also being widely circulated
online.
Passengers on board described the incident as happening soon after landing. “They were taxiing to the gate at LGA after landing at CLT when they were struck by another Delta regional jet that was taxiing by,” a CBS News producer onboard flight DL5047 said.
Emergency teams rushed to the spot immediately. Initial reports suggest at least one person was injured, though the extent of the injury and whether others were hurt is still unclear.
The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) is expected to probe the collision.
