Roti is made daily in almost every household. Many people like to eat it at home, but also take it to school, college, or the office. However, if roti isn’t packed properly in a lunch box, it often becomes soggy due to moisture, losing its taste unless reheated. For many, keeping rotis fresh and perfectly packed is a challenging task.
But you don’t need to worry anymore. Here’s a simple hack that keeps rotis fresh for hours.
Why Rotis Get Soggy?
Some people pack hot rotis straight into the lunch box immediately after making them. The steam trapped inside makes the rotis soggy and causes them to stick together. Avoid this common mistake to maintain freshness.

The Easy Roti-Packing Trick
This clever hack, shared by the Instagram account hello_oddly, has
gone viral with countless likes, shares, and comments. The method is simple:
- Make the roti and allow it to cool slightly.
- Hold the roti from both sides and fold it towards the centre.
- Roll it from the bottom so it fits neatly in the lunch box.
- Place a long tissue paper in the lunch box.
- Put one rolled roti on top of the tissue. Cover it with the tissue hanging out of the box and fold it over.
- Add the next roti on top and repeat, wrapping each roti individually with the tissue paper.
This method keeps the rotis separate, prevents them from sticking together, and protects them from steam. When you take them out to eat, the rotis remain perfect in shape, texture, and taste, just as fresh as when they were made.
