Vidarbha’s opening batter Aman Mokhade on Thursday (January 15) has equalled the record of scoring the most centuries in a single edition of the Vijay Hazare Trophy. The 24-year-old right-handed batter opened
the innings for the Harsh Dubey-led side in the 281-run chase against Karnataka in the first semifinal of the Vijay Hazare Trophy 2025-26 played at the BCCI Centre of Excellence Ground 1 in Bengaluru and scored 138 runs from 122 balls. During his stay at the crease, he slammed 12 fours and 2 sixes for the last edition’s losing finalists in the repeat of the 2024-25 final.
The century by Mokhade on Thursday is his fifth century in the ongoing season. Prior to playing a knock of 138 runs against the Mayank Agarwal-led side, he scored 110 runs against Bengal in Vidarbha’s Vijay Hazare Trophy opener played in Rajkot on December 24, 2025, and then slammed 139 against Jammu and Kashmir, 150* against Baroda and 147 against Uttar Pradesh.
Before Mokhade, Tamil Nadu’s Narayan Jagadeesan and Vidarbha’s Karun Nair had also scored five centuries in a single edition of the Vijay Hazare Trophy. While Jagadeesan achieved the feat in the 2022-23 season, Nair scored five centuries for Vidarbha in the 2024-25 edition.

The overall record of scoring the most runs in a single edition of the Vijay Hazare Trophy is in the name of Tamil Nadu’s Jagadeesan. The wicketkeeper-batter played eight matches for Tamil Nadu in the 2022-23 edition and scored 830 runs.
