“Literally hamari civic sense khatam ho gayi hai (Literally, we don’t have civic sense anymore),” said an individual capturing a video on a street in Delhi. The clip showed a man confronting a family after allegedly witnessing them littering a public road from inside their car.
In the clip, the man filming the incident claimed that the family had finished eating food in their vehicle and then threw the used paper plates onto the road. Criticising their actions, he remarked that they chose to keep their car clean while leaving public spaces dirty.
He further alleged that when he objected, one of the family members responded, “Tere baap ka road hai kya (Is this your father’s road)?” In his reply, the man said, “Haan mere baap ka road hai (yes, it’s
my father’s road),” emphasising that public places belong to everyone and should be treated with respect.
The video showed the man repeatedly urging the family to pick up the litter they had discarded. “Kachra uthaiye (Pick up the garbage),” he can be heard saying firmly. However, the man sitting in the driver’s seat denied responsibility by shaking his head, seemingly suggesting that they had not thrown the plates onto the road.
Their response appeared to frustrate the person filming, who strongly insisted, “Maine dekha hai bhai, aapne fenka hai (I have seen you, brother, you threw the trash).” The man then stepped out of his car, but not to collect the litter. Instead, he was seen using his foot to push the discarded plates underneath the vehicle.
“Fine Should Be 1 Lakh”
The incident has once again sparked debate about civic sense, with many urging the Delhi Traffic Police to take strict action against the family for littering a public space.
“@CMODelhi @gupta_rekha @DelhiPolice @LtGovDelhi Dear Madam, please take action against such nuisance who litter the city and then complain that Delhi is dirty,” said one user.
“Delhi people are one of the laziest. They want food to come to their cars. Haven’t seen this culture in any part of the country,” quipped another person.

When a man saw this, he confronted them and said, Don’t throw your trash on the road. Pick it up

“Money can’t buy you civic sense. Kudos to the guy confronting him, need more people like him,” someone else commented.
Meanwhile, one individual suggested, “Fine should be 1 lakh. All the trash will vanish!!”
