TCS Launches Global AI Partnership With Anthropic, To Equip 50,000 Employees With Claude

Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) on Thursday announced a global strategic partnership with Anthropic, the artificial intelligence company behind Claude, aimed at accelerating enterprise AI adoption across industries and highly regulated sectors. Under the partnership, TCS will establish a dedicated business unit focused on delivering AI solutions powered by Anthropic’s Claude models.

As part of the collaboration, TCS will provide access to Claude to 50,000 employees across engineering, finance, legal, marketing and sales functions. The company said the initiative will help transform internal operations while enabling it to develop and deploy AI-driven solutions for clients globally.

The two companies will jointly take AI solutions to market across

sectors including financial services, healthcare, life sciences, telecom, aviation, medtech and public services. TCS said the partnership is designed to help enterprises move beyond AI pilot projects and deploy production-scale AI applications with stronger governance, accuracy and oversight.

The partnership will also extend to TCS’ existing businesses and platforms. In the UK, Diligenta, TCS’ life and pensions business, plans to use Claude to improve customer experience through agentic process transformation. Meanwhile, TCS iON will offer learning and certification programmes on Claude models to help build an AI-ready workforce in India.

Commenting on the development, TCS CEO and MD K Krithivasan said combining Claude’s capabilities with TCS’ industry expertise and engineering strength would help customers accelerate AI adoption, particularly in sectors where trust and regulatory compliance are critical. Anthropic CEO Dario Amodei said the partnership deepens the company’s commitment to India, its second-largest market.

Despite the announcement, TCS shares remained near their 52-week low. The stock was trading at Rs 2,141.10 on the NSE around noon, up 0.59% from the previous close. It touched an intraday high of Rs 2,154.60 after opening at Rs 2,127. The stock’s 52-week range stands between Rs 2,110 and Rs 3,538, while the company’s market capitalisation is around Rs 7.75 lakh crore.
