Cameron Green, Kolkata Knight Riders’ costliest buy in IPL 2026, bit the dust again, and this time he chose to get out in a bizarre fashion. His dismissal stung KKR early in the chase of 227, against Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) at Eden Gardens in Kolkata.
Kolkata, who had already seen captain Ajinkya Rahane and Finn Allen depart cheaply, were reeling when Green’s dismissal added to their troubles. The chase was still taking shape when Green fell to a freakish run-out off the final ball of the Powerplay, punished heavily for a poor judgment call at a crucial moment.
Angkrish Raghuvanshi hit the ball straight back to the bowler Eshan Malinga, who got a slight touch with his boot. Green initially stayed in his crease but then went for a quick single
as Raghuvanshi hesitated, unsure of the ball.
With Green halfway down, Raghuvanshi had no choice but to run. Malinga shattered the stumps with both batters stuck at the bowling end. Raghuvanshi started walking off, thinking he was the victim. However, the third umpire ruled Green out as both.
Green’s second consecutive failure with the bat gave an open invitation to the trolls, who just ripped the KKR all-rounder.
😅 WHAT A MOMENT OF CONFUSION!

If KKR knew that Cameron Green wouldn’t bowl, then why did they buy him?
Now he’s not even running properly between the wickets…

Earlier, Blessing Muzarabani starred with a four-wicket haul as Kolkata Knight Riders fought back, but Heinrich Klaasen’s composed 52 powered Sunrisers Hyderabad to 226/8.
Travis Head (46) and Abhishek Sharma (48) gave SRH a flying start, adding 82 in just 34 balls as they raced at nearly 15 an over. However, Kartik Tyagi broke the stand before Muzarabani struck twice in quick succession, removing Ishan Kishan (14) and Abhishek to trigger a collapse.
However, SRH slipped from 110/1, losing three wickets for seven runs, with Anukul Roy adding another blow. Klaasen and Nitish Kumar Reddy (39) rebuilt with a crucial stand, before late strikes pegged SRH back. Muzarabani capped his spell by dismissing Klaasen in the final over.
