New Delhi, Sep 6 (PTI) It was a pleasant day in the national capital on Sunday, with the maximum temperature settling at 29.1 degrees Celsius, five notches below the season’s average, the Met office said.
According to the India Meteorological Department (IMD), the minimum temperature settled at 24. 6 degrees Celsius, a notch below the season’s average.
As of 5.30 pm on Sunday, the 24-hour cumulative rainfall recorded at the city’s weather stations was 29.8 mm at Safdarjung, 35.6 mm at Palam , 30.8 mm at Lodhi Road, 24.2 mm at Ridge, and 19 mm at Ayanagar.
From 8.30 am to 5.30 pm on Sunday, Safdarjung recorded 2.4 mm of rainfall, Palam 4.9 mm, Lodhi Road 2 mm, Ridge 13.8 mm, and Ayanagar trace rainfall.
The weather department has forecast a cloudy
sky with moderate rain on Monday. The maximum and minimum temperatures are expected to settle around 34 and 24 degrees Celsius, the IMD stated.
The relative humidity at 5.30 pm was recorded at 82 per cent.
The air quality was recorded in the “satisfactory” category at 5 pm, with an Air Quality Index (AQI) reading of 56, officials said.
According to the CPCB, an AQI between zero and 50 is considered “good”, 51 to 100 “satisfactory”, 101 to 200 “moderate”, 201 to 300 “poor”, 301 to 400 “very poor”, and 401 to 500 “severe”. PTI SHB RHL
