Nakuul Mehta, a television and web star, has attracted attention for his role in the JioHotstar sci-fi thriller ‘Space Gen: Chandrayaan‘ as well as for a special guest on set: his young son Sufi. The actor shared glimpses of his son exploring the Space Gen set, writing, “The kid believes his Dadda played an Astronaut on a space show. I don’t have the heart to correct him.”
The video shows Sufi checking on the microphone and other gadgets on the set. He then asks his father to wear the microphone, saying, “Dadda, you wear these.”
“When your protégé does the simulation run before the launch” was written over the father-son video.

Nakuul’s Son Sufi Gets a Set Tour
The actor, who has starred in flicks like Ishqbaaaz and Bade Achhe Lagte Hain 2, has been candid about his parenting style, noting that he deliberately chose to limit Sufi’s screen time even though he was aware that his father was an actor and visited workplaces.
Although Sufi is aware that his “Dadda” is an actor and has visited his sets, Nakuul recently revealed that the child has not seen his on-screen work—no serials or episodes, only real-life encounters.
The actor claimed that this was done on purpose in order to allow him to recognise his father as a real person who goes to work and not just a TV personality. While Sufi has encountered co-stars Shriya Saran and Danish Sait and heard music from Mehta’s performances, visuals are currently off-limits.
“My son has visited my set and now knows that I’m an actor, but he hasn’t seen any of my work,” he said, discussing his choice to keep his son away from the spotlight.
Nakuul added that Sufi has heard the song ‘Never Kiss Your Best Friend’ from one of his performances. He loves the song but he is unaware of the images. “He has met Danish (Sait), Shreya (Saran), and my peers, but he hasn’t seen any of my work,” Nakuul added.
