CM Yogi To Launch Cashless Health Scheme For Teachers In Varanasi On July 8

Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath will launch the Mukhyamantri Shikshak Cashless Chikitsa Yojana in Varanasi on July 8, extending cashless healthcare benefits to eligible teachers of the Basic and Secondary Education Departments and their dependent family members.

Announced by the Chief Minister on the occasion of Teachers’ Day, the scheme will provide beneficiaries access to cashless medical treatment in empanelled hospitals under the Ayushman Bharat Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana across the country.

Digital Portal To Streamline Registration

According to State Agency for Comprehensive Health and Integrated Services (SACHIS) CEO Archana Verma, a digital platform has been developed to ensure transparent implementation of the scheme. The portal facilitates

online registration, verification and approval of eligible beneficiaries.

So far, 7,89,032 beneficiaries from the Basic Education Department have registered on the portal. Their applications will be verified by the respective Block Education Officers (BEOs), followed by final approval from the Basic Shiksha Adhikari (BSA). Once approved, the data will be integrated with the National Health Authority’s Beneficiary Identification System (BIS), enabling beneficiaries to complete Aadhaar-based e-KYC, download digital health cards and avail cashless treatment.

Secondary, Higher Education Staff Also To Be Covered

The registration portal for teachers of the Secondary Education Department became operational on July 3. Applications submitted through the portal will first be verified by school principals before receiving final approval from the District Inspector of Schools (DIOS). After verification and Aadhaar-based e-KYC, eligible teachers will be able to access the scheme’s benefits.

Officials said beneficiaries will receive all healthcare services available under the Ayushman Bharat scheme and can avail cashless treatment at empanelled hospitals across India. The initiative is expected to reduce the financial burden on teachers and their families, particularly during treatment for serious illnesses.

The state government is also preparing to expand the scheme to the Higher Education Department. A separate online portal will soon be launched for eligible teachers and staff of universities and colleges, allowing them to register digitally and receive the same health security benefits.
