Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) jumped to the top of the IPL 2026 points table after a huge 43-run win over Southern rivals Chennai Super Kings (CSK) at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium on Sunday.
Batting first, RCB hit a record 250/3 in the first innings after a complete batting performance where the lowest score was 28. Tim David was the star of the show with the bat, with his 25-ball 70.
In reply, CSK were bowled out for 207 in 19.4 overs. Bhuvneshwar Kumar starred with a three-wicket haul, while three bowlers — Jacob Duffy, Krunal Pandya, and Abhinandan Singh took two wickets each.

Orange Cap
Delhi Capitals’ Sameer Rizvi kept hold of the Orange cap despite the RCB-CSK match seeing 457 runs scored by both teams. Devdutt Padikkal jumped to the fourth spot on
the list, though, with 111 runs after his second consecutive half-century, a 50 off 29.
Virat Kohli scored 28 (18) and finished eighth on the list. Former RCB and now CSK middle-order batter Sarfaraz Khan, meanwhile, hit a 25-ball 50 in a losing cause which got him to number seven on the list.

Purple Cap
Rajasthan Royals spinner Ravi Bishnoi took the Purple Cap after his four-wicket haul on Saturday. On Sunday, RCB pacer Jacob Duffy and CSK speedster Anshul Kamboj joined him and Vijay Kumar Vyshak in the five-wicket club. Duffy, who took two wickets, and Kamboj, who took one scalp, will be third and fourth, respectively, due to their high economy rates.
Duffy has proven in this short time that he can be more than a temporary replacement for Josh Hazlewood.
