Venus Williams has officially sealed the deal, once more. Following a romantic celebration in Ischia, Italy, earlier this year, Venus and actor Andrea Preti made their union legally binding with a refined courthouse ceremony in Palm Beach, Florida, on December 19. Speaking to Vogue in an interview published on December 23, Venus opened up about the intimate day, the emotional moments, and the gown that made it unforgettable.
An ethereal lace moment
For the Florida ceremony, Venus chose a bespoke design by Georges Hobeika, created to reflect a balance of strength and softness. The gown featured a sculpted corset bodice with a sweetheart neckline and delicate spaghetti straps, layered with ornate white embroidery and lace appliqués over a subtly
sheer, nude-toned base.

The silhouette hugged her frame before breaking at the knees into a clean white silk train, offering a striking contrast to the richly textured lace above. A long, sheer tulle veil flowed past the train, while minimal diamond jewellery, just a necklace and stud earrings kept the look elegant and unfussy. Venus likened the dress to its coastal surroundings, noting that its shimmer and translucence echoed the movement of the sea.
The high-stakes hunt for the dress
Securing the perfect gown came with its own drama. Venus revealed that she hadn’t been able to try on a sample beforehand, which led to a last-minute fitting during Paris Fashion Week. With just a single day in the city, she made it work against all odds. The moment became even more special when her sister, Isha Price, saw the dress for the first time and was overcome with emotion confirming, for Venus, that it was the one.
She completed her bridal look with sleek, side-parted hair, luminous makeup, and manicured nails by celebrity nail artist Gina Edwards, keeping the overall aesthetic timeless and refined.

A bridal wardrobe beyond one gown
While the Georges Hobeika dress was the centrepiece of the courthouse ceremony, Venus revealed it was only one part of an extensive wedding wardrobe. Designers such as Natali and Meital, Veni Infantino, and Eve of Milady also contributed looks for various celebrations. For her exit, she opted for a more understated ensemble, a short skirt and top paired with a custom headpiece, perfect for transitioning into a private celebratory breakfast.

A ceremony rich in emotion
Though quieter than the Italian festivities, the Palm Beach ceremony held profound meaning for Venus. She described it as deeply emotional and personal, an experience that stood entirely on its own. In her words, it was “the second-best day” of her life, proof that even the most understated moments can carry extraordinary significance.
