Nigerian star Sam Chukwueze continued to tease his teammate Calvin Bassey, following up on the banter the Fulham players exchanged after the latter missed a sitter on the back of an incredible run against
Burnley in the Premier League.
Bassey embarked on an impressive run at Turf Moor before subsequently missing the shot, as teammates Alex Iwobi and Chukwueze commented on the Nigerian’s mistake last week.
Ahead of Nigeria’s AFCON opener against Tanzania in their Group C encounter on Tuesday at the Complex Stortif de Fes, Chukwueze was seen taking a dig at Bassey yet again in a friendly exchange.
“This is what they teach us in the academy…” 😂

“The ball got to AFCON before us,” Chukwueze said in a friendly taunt targeted at Bassey.
“You were in the same position as Maradona and Messi, but you balloned the ball to Morocco,” Chukwueze continued.
“You balloned the ball like an amateaur player,” he added.
“I was supposed to have a goal and an assist, but I only have an assist because of you,” Chukwueze said recollecting Fulham’s 3-1 win over Burnley.
“Simple pass, this is what they teach us in the academy. Simple pass. Pass and celebrate with me, I’m your brother”.
“Every time I play with this boy, this boy doesn’t give me the ball, what did I ever do to you,” he jested.
Goals from Emile Smith-Rowe, Bassey, and Harry Wilson secured a win on the road for the Cottagers, despite strikes from Lesley Ugochukwu and Oliver Sonne for Scott Parker’s Burnley.
Smith-Rowe opened the scoring in the 9th minute, giving the visitors an early lead. Ugochukwu equalised in the 21st minute, but Bassey restored Fulham’s lead ten minutes later. Wilson added an insurance goal, and although Sonne scored a late goal, it was merely a consolation. Fulham collected all three points and moved up to 14th in the league, with 20 points from 16 matches this season.
