There was a moment on contention at the FIDE World Cup in Goa on Friday as Lithuanian GM Stremavicius Titas raised a complaint against Indian GM Pranav V, who got the better of him on the day.
Stremavicius complaint was that Pranav was making several moves without notating, and arbitration was required to resolve the appeal.
The regulations of the game state the players to register their moves on the sheet, and the Indian was given a formal warning.
“I did not know this, but you cannot make, like, I think, three moves without writing,” Pranav said following the conclusion of the game.

Arjun Erigaisi continued his impressive form by defeating his Uzbek opponent
Shamsiddin Vokhidov in a decisive attacking game. Meanwhile, world champion D Gukesh drew with Frederik Svane of Germany in the first game of the third round. In addition to Erigaisi, Grandmaster P Harikrishna also took the lead with a finely-crafted victory against young GM Daniel Dardha of Belgium.
In the round of 64, R Praggnanandhaa drew his first game with Robert Hovhannisyan of Armenia, starting with the black pieces, while Vidit Gujrathi drew with Sam Shankland in his bid for the fourth round.
