Gurugram, Sep 1 (PTI) Gurugram police arrested 10 accused for the murder of a 35-year-old man over an old enmity stemming from a dispute between children, police said on Tuesday.
The deceased, identified as Babulal, a resident of Madhya Pradesh, who lived in a slum in the Sector 45 area, was beaten to death on Monday following a dispute with friends in the Sector-45 area, said police.
Babulal’s wife submitted a complaint to the police saying that on Sunday, persons named Rahul and Akash had come to their jhuggi and started arguing over a dispute between the children.
During the argument, a physical altercation took place, in which Akash and Sunil sustained injuries. Thereafter, on Monday, Rahul and his associates, armed with sticks, batons, knives
and other weapons, allegedly dragged her husband Babulal out of their jhuggi and assaulted him.
Due to the injuries sustained in the assault, her husband died while being taken to the hospital.
On the basis of the complaint, a case was registered at Police Station Sector-40, they added.
Acting promptly, the police team arrested 10 accused in connection with the case from Gurugram on Tuesday. The accused were identified as Narayan, Rafiful Alam, Ranesh, Rahul, Anil, Biju, Balkishan, Rajaram, and Rakibul. All the accused are currently residing in jhuggis in Samsapur and Kanhai villages in Gurugram, police said.
“During the interrogation, it was revealed that on Sunday, the accused party had allegedly abused the child of the complainant, following which the complainant’s side got into a physical altercation with the accused party,” said a senior police officer.
Due to this previous enmity arising from the altercation, the accused allegedly committed the offence on Monday. All the accused persons work as daily-wage labourers in Gurugram, the officer said. PTI COR SHS
