A contestant’s remarks on relationships during an episode of India’s Got Latent have sparked debate online after an X post claimed she was unfairly mocked for expressing her views.
The discussion has now spread beyond the show, with social media users divided over whether she was simply sharing an opinion or making unfair generalisations.
Contestant’s Remarks Spark Debate
An episode of Samay Raina’s India’s Got Latent Season 2 has become a talking point after clips from the show began circulating online. Much of the discussion centres on contestant Vanika Raikta and her views on modern relationships, which led to a heated exchange with the show’s panel.
An X user later shared a long post describing the episode from their perspective, claiming Vanika
was criticised for speaking honestly about her brother’s experience and her opinions on dating today. According to the post, Vanika spoke about her brother’s relationship, claiming he financially supported his girlfriend while she studied in the US. She alleged that he paid her rent, sold half of his property to help her career, and later discovered that she had been cheating on him.
The post further claimed that when Vanika shared the story, members of the panel criticised her brother for trusting his girlfriend. She reportedly responded by saying that he had simply been in love with her. The X post also alleged that Vanika said many women hide things from their parents and partners while sharing everything with their male best friends. It claimed she described feminism as “just a propaganda to hide their faults.”
According to the post, none of the panel members supported her opinions. It further alleged that she called them “namard,” was compared to “female Andrew Tate,” and was repeatedly mocked during the discussion.
The user also claimed the panel questioned her about her mother and contrasted her treatment with another contestant, Sakshi, saying that criticism of men had received a lighter reaction. The post concluded by urging men to support Vanika despite the backlash it expected she would receive.
