Officials clarified that the incident had no impact on traffic movement along the Badrinath National Highway, describing avalanches in snow-covered mountainous regions as “common natural occurrences”.
“This is a natural process and such events occur from time to time,” Chamoli District Magistrate Gaurav Kumar said.
He said the avalanche debris did not reach the main road as the snow mass stopped within a valley area. According to the administration, normal life and vehicular movement in the region remain unaffected.
The District Magistrate also appealed to people not to pay attention to rumours circulating on social media and other platforms, urging them to rely only on official updates issued by the administration.
“The district administration is continuously monitoring the area,” Kumar said.
