A massive fire broke out at an aluminium factory in Tirupati, Andhra Pradesh, on Saturday after two boilers in the unit exploded.
According to initial reports, at least five workers sustained injuries in the
incident.
Firefighters rushed to the spot and are currently trying to bring the blaze under control with the help of two fire engines.
Authorities are yet to confirm the cause of the explosion. More details are awaited.
Earlier, in a separate incident, six people lost their lives in a massive fire at the Lakshmi Ganapati Bana Sancha Preparation Centre, a licensed firecracker factory in Rayavaram Mandal, Konaseema district, Andhra Pradesh. Two others sustained injuries and were rushed to Anaparthi Government Hospital for treatment.
Preliminary reports suggest the blaze erupted during the preparation of gunpowder, with a suspected short circuit under investigation. In addition to the fatalities, eight others were seriously injured.
