15-year-old Vaibhav Sooryavanshi, who won the Orange Cap in IPL 2026, for scoring 776 runs in 16 matches for Rajasthan Royals, is part of India’s T20I squad for the two-match series against Ireland and on Friday (June 26) he could potentially make his India debut as well.
On the eve of his maiden international series with the Indian men’s cricket team, Sooryavanshi trained with the Indian players, and the clip of his first-ever practice session is now going viral on the internet.
Here’s a look:

Even though Vaibhav is part of the squad, it remains to be seen whether he can secure a place in the playing XI. The 15-year-old bats in the top order, but India’s T20I top order is already packed with the likes of Abhishek Sharma, Sanju Samson and Ishan Kishan. All three scored half-centuries in India’s last T20I assignment, making it interesting to see whether the team management decides to leave one of them out to accommodate Vaibhav in the XI.
If Vaibhav gets a game for India in either of the two T20Is against Ireland or the five-match series against England next month, he will break Sachin Tendulkar’s 37-year-old record and become the youngest cricketer to represent the Indian men’s cricket team.
