Homebound’s Gripping Storyline
Made under the direction of critically acclaimed filmmaker Neeraj Ghaywan, the emotional drama centres around two inseparable childhood friends—Chandan, a Dalit (played by Vishal Jethwa), and Shoaib, a Muslim (played by Ishaan Khatter). Set in a North Indian village, Homebound shows how the two friends set out to become police officers in the hopes of saving themselves from the deep-rooted discrimination they face. But life takes an unexpected turn when the police exam results are delayed, testing their bond as desperation grows in this quest. The film also delves into emotional complexities of friendship and rural India’s socio-political challenges.

Taking to her Instagram handle, the ‘Dhadak’ actress shared the poster of the film and captioned it, “Every part of this film has been nothing short of a dream. The journey, the people, what this story means, and how personal it’s been for everyone in our team. At every step I have been thankful I could witness this journey, which in my mind was truly the reward in itself.”
