Not Kallis! Broad And Buttler Pick West Indies Legend As Greatest Test All-Rounder, 2 Indians In Top-10

Former England fast bowler Stuart Broad and star wicketkeeper-batter Jos Buttler have picked their top 10 greatest Test all-rounders of all time and included South African great Jacques Kallis in the second position.

Kallis, who according to former Australian cricketers Ricky Ponting and Brett Lee is the ‘greatest cricketer of all time’, played 166 Tests, 328 ODIs and 25 T20Is during his 19-year international career. He scored 13,289 runs in Tests, 11,579 in ODIs and 666 in T20Is. He also accounted for the dismissals of 292 batters in Tests, 273 in ODIs and 12 in T20Is.

According to Broad and Buttler, former West Indies all-rounder and captain Garry Sobers is the greatest Test all-rounder of all time. Sobers played 93 Tests for the West Indies between

March 1954 and April 1974, scoring 8,032 runs at an average of 57.78 and taking 235 wickets.

He played 383 first-class matches overall, scoring 28,314 runs and taking 1,043 wickets.

In their top 10 list, Broad and Buttler placed former England Test captain Ben Stokes third and also included two Indian cricketers.

They placed Kapil Dev at No. 5, one place below England great Ian Botham, and included Ravindra Jadeja in 10th position.

Former Pakistan captain Imran Khan is the sixth-greatest Test all-rounder according to Broad and Buttler, followed by England’s Andrew Flintoff, West Indies’ Keith Miller and South Africa’s Shaun Pollock.

Ravindra Jadeja, who currently tops the ICC Test all-rounders’ rankings, is the only active cricketer included by the two English stars in their all-time list of greatest all-rounders.

Jadeja, who made his Test debut in 2012, has scored 4,095 runs and picked up 348 wickets in 89 Test matches. He is part of India’s Test squad for the upcoming two-match Test series against Sri Lanka and is certain to be part of the playing XI in the series opener at Galle International Stadium.
