Gurugram, Sep 18 (PTI) A labourer, who was injured in a severe road accident near Shriram Chowk on the Dwarka Expressway service lane, passed away on Friday while undergoing treatment, police said.
The deceased has been identified as Sunil Chand. With his death, the toll in the accident has risen to three.
The driver was a 20-year-old Delhi University student, Vedan Khanna. He had also sustained injuries in the accident and was referred to Fortis Hospital.
The accident occurred on Thursday when four labourers were engaged in installing iron grilles to secure the divider near Shriram Chowk.
While two of them were tightening the screws, the other two stood holding it in place when they saw a white Chevrolet Beat approaching from the Delhi direction
and going out of control.
The car ploughed straight into the labourers who were standing by the crash barrier, killing two on the spot, police had said.
The other two labourers, including Chand, had leapt over the green belt in the middle of the expressway to save themselves, but the speeding car veered out of control and struck them too. PTI COR AMJ AMJ
