There was a time when dinner tables went quiet at 10:30 pm, families gathered around the television, and Tulsi Virani became a household name across India. More than two decades later, Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi continues to hold a special place in fans’ hearts. And now, as the iconic daily soap celebrates 26 years, the makers are getting ready to turn a brand-new page.
Producer Ekta Kapoor has unveiled the first promo of Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi 2 after its much-awaited 10-year leap. Along with the promo, she looked back on the journey of the show and thanked everyone who helped make it one of Indian television’s biggest success stories.
Sharing the video on Instagram, Ekta wrote, “26 years ago a show came that changed my life.” She
also thanked Star Plus, Balaji Telefilms, Smriti Irani, Sameer Nair, the actors, writers and the crew for being a part of the journey.
“Thank you Sameer sir, thank you Star Plus, thank you Balaji team, thank you Tanu, thank you Smriti, thank you to all the actors, and of course, above all, thank you to the writers and the team who constantly work at making it what it is. Jai Mata Di,” she wrote.
The newly released promo offers viewers their first look at Shantiniketan after the 10-year leap—and a lot has changed.
The video introduces Niyati, played by Parakh Madan, and Damini, played by Raavee Gupta, as they shoot a fun video while dancing to the iconic Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi title track. But there’s a twist. The once-happy Virani mansion has now been split into two parts, with both women proudly showing off their respective sides of the house.
The promo also gives a brief glimpse of Nandini, who is seen standing on Niyati’s side of the house, hinting that relationships within the family have changed over the years.
The leap marks the beginning of a fresh chapter for the Viranis, with the younger generation taking centre stage. Along with new faces and changing family equations, old conflicts have only grown stronger with time. At the heart of it all will once again be Tulsi, who returns to hold the family together as she navigates new challenges inside Shantiniketan.
The new chapter officially begins with the July 3 episode. The promo’s post-leap story and the transformed Virani mansion will be seen in tonight’s telecast.
