Abhishek Sharma is playing for Punjab in the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy, and on Sunday (November 30), during his team’s third Elite Group A match in Hyderabad against Bengal, he entered his name in the history books by becoming the second Indian batter to hit more than 15 sixes in a T20 match.

Only one Indian batter—Punit Bisht—has smashed more sixes than in a T20 match. During the 2021 SMAT match between Meghalaya and Mizoram in Chennai on January 13, 2021, Punit hammered 17 sixes during his 146-run knock.
