Peshawar, Dec 29 (PTI) Pakistani security forces killed five TTP terrorists on Monday in the restive Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province, according to the military.
An intelligence-based operation was conducted
in the Bajaur district on the reported presence of terrorists belonging to “Fitna al Khwarij”, a statement by the military’s media wing.
Fitna-al-Khawarij is a term the state uses for terrorists belonging to the banned Tehreek-i-Taliban Pakistan (TTP).
During the operation, five terrorists were killed, according to the statement.
In the exchange of fire, an Army Major was also killed.
Weapons and ammunition were also recovered from the terrorists killed, who remained actively involved in numerous terrorist activities against the security forces and law enforcement agencies as well as the killing of civilians.
Sanitisation operations are being conducted to eliminate any other terrorists found in the area, it said. PTI AYZ GRS GRS GRS
