When cinema travels across borders, sometimes the language follows too — and that’s exactly what left Allu Arjun and Rashmika Mandanna wide-eyed during their recent trip to Japan. While promoting Pushpa
2: The Rule, the stars found themselves at a loss for words when a Japanese fan surprised them by speaking fluent Telugu, turning a routine interaction into a moment they — and the internet — won’t forget.
Allu Arjun and Rashmika were in Japan for the release of their 2024 blockbuster when they met Kazu, a local fan who not only praised their performances but did so in polished Telugu. The interaction, captured on video and later shared online by the fan himself, has since gone viral.
Sharing a picture with the actors where all three strike Pushpa 2’s signature gesture, Kazu wrote, “I had the honor of interviewing two of India’s leading actors, Allu Arjun and Rashmika Mandanna! There was even an unexpected Telugu surprise! Grateful for the incredible opportunity.”

In another clip, Kazu is seen wishing the actors a Happy Sankranthi. When Allu Arjun first speaks to him in Japanese, the fan responds in the language before switching seamlessly to Telugu, saying, “You are the pride of Telugu movies. I’m learning Telugu. Please bear with my Telugu.” The sudden switch leaves both actors visibly stunned, with Rashmika breaking into applause as he continues.
Clearly impressed, Allu Arjun responds with humour, telling him, “You should marry a Telugu girl also,” prompting laughter from everyone present.
The conversation continues in Telugu, with Kazu asking the actors about their experience in Japan, calling Telugu a beautiful language, and sharing his wish to visit India someday. When he mentions that it was his first time speaking Telugu, Rashmika compliments him, calling his command of the language ‘incredible’.
Fans quickly flooded the comments section with praise. One user joked, “Bro speaks even more better than me,” while another wrote, “So good! Omg!” Actor Chandrika Ravi also reacted, commenting, “So good,” along with clapping emojis.
On the work front, Allu Arjun is gearing up for AA22 with Atlee and Deepika Padukone, and AA23 with Lokesh Kanagaraj. There is also ongoing buzz about potential collaborations with Sandeep Reddy Vanga and Trivikram Srinivas, though no official announcements have been made yet. Rashmika Mandanna, last seen in The Girlfriend, will next appear in Cocktail 2 and Mysaa.
