Traffic Curbs In Delhi For Navy Half-Marathon | Check Diversions, Alternate Routes

With the Indian Navy Half Marathon slated to take place today, i.e., Sunday, commuters in Central Delhi will face traffic restrictions and diversions, the Delhi Traffic Police said in an advisory.

The marathon, aimed at promoting fitness and camaraderie between the armed forces and the public, is likely to attract around 15,000 runners. The event will commence from Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium (JLN) at 5 A.M.

Traffic movements on several key routes will be regulated between 4:45 A.M. and 9 A.M. Notably, emergency vehicles and essential services will be allowed uninterrupted passage.

The half-marathon, covering 21.01 km, will kick off from JLN Stadium on Bhishma Pitamah Marg at 5:30 A.M., passing through key areas including Lodhi Road, Lala Lajpat Rai Marg, Mathura Road, India Gate, Rafi Marg, Kartavya Path, Sansad Marg, and Janpath Road.

As highlighted in the advisory, traffic will be diverted at multiple points, including 4^th Avenue Marg Junction- Bhishma Pitamah Marg Junction, Kotla Red Light, Sewa Nagar Red Light, Mehar Chand Market, Jor Bagh Colony Road, 2^nd Avenue, Aurobindo Marg-Lodhi Road junction, Subramania Bharti Marg junctions, Janpath-Maulana Azad Road, and Gol Dak Khana, Lala Lajpat Rai Marg, among others.

The Delhi Police have urged the commuters to plan their journeys in order to avoid inconvenience.
