Rajasthan: Patwari, middleman arrested in Rs 1 lakh bribery case

Jaipur, Jul 2 (PTI) A patwari and a middleman were arrested here by the Rajasthan Anti-Corruption Bureau in connection with a Rs 1 lakh bribery case related to land mutation.

According to the ACB, Patwari Surendra Swami, posted at the Alisar patwar circle in Chomu tehsil, had allegedly demanded Rs 1 lakh from a complainant for mutation of a land purchased in December 2025.

After verification of the complaint, the ACB laid a trap and caught middleman Bhairu Ram Yadav red-handed while accepting the bribe amount from the complainant at a tea stall near an HP petrol pump in Chomu town.

Further investigation established that the bribe was being collected on behalf of the patwari, officials said.

Both Surendra Swami and Bhairu Ram Yadav have been arrested

in the case under the Prevention of Corruption Act, they said. PTI SDA RUK RUK
