Bengaluru, Sep 9 (PTI) A 38-year-old auto driver allegedly killed his wife by attacking her with a beer bottle and later died by suicide by hanging, with a family dispute suspected to be the reason, police said on Wednesday.
The deceased were identified as Raghavendra, 38, and his wife Shruthi, 30, they said.
The incident occurred at Vibhuthipura here on Tuesday evening, police said. The couple had been married for 17 years.
After the incident came to light on Wednesday morning, a team from the HAL police station rushed to the spot.
According to police, Raghavendra allegedly attacked Shruthi with a beer bottle before hanging himself. Their two children were staying at their maternal grandparents’ house in Davanagere at the time.
A senior police officer
said a family dispute was suspected to have led to the incident, based on the preliminary investigation.
