Actor Kubbra Sait has spoken about one of the most difficult moments in her life about, her decision to undergo an abortion. In a recent conversation with Viral Bhayani channel, the Sacred Games star shared
how she once felt conflicted but now feels confident that the decision she made was the right one for her.
‘I Was Conflicted Then, But I Know It Was Right for Me’
Speaking about the emotional turmoil she experienced, Kubbra said, “It’s been many years since that happened, and I’ve had plenty of time to think about it and heal from it. But when a moment like that comes in your life, you find yourself conflicted because along with you are your faith, your responsibilities, and the world around you. You know what your duties are, you’re aware of how society sees you, and you feel torn between what’s right and what’s wrong.”
She continued, “At that time, you don’t really know whether the decision you’re making is correct or not. But today, I can say with full confidence that the decision I made then was the right one for me. Because I know that even if I had made a mistake, God was watching — and I would have to face the consequences there, in the hereafter.”
Finding Healing Through Acceptance
Kubbra previously revealed that the experience took years to process. She recalled that while shooting for a project years later, she would often feel unwell, suffering from heavy bleeding and irritability, but chose not to share what she was going through with those around her.
It was only when she wrote about the experience in her 2022 memoir Open Book: Not Quite a Memoir that she realized the importance of sharing her story. “Writing it down helped me understand that I needed to be kind to myself and to the choices I made,” she had said earlier.
Having first gained recognition with Sacred Games in 2018, Kubbra has since appeared in several acclaimed projects including Farzi, The Trial, Waqalat From Home, and Shehar Lakhot. She was recently seen in Deva alongside Shahid Kapoor and Pooja Hegde and will next appear in Hai Jawani Toh Ishq Hona Hai.
