Batting superstar Virat Kohli opened the innings for Royal Challengers Bengaluru in their IPL 2026 match against Mumbai Indians on Sunday, May 10, but he failed to open his account in Raipur. Kohli, who is playing his 278th IPL match on Sunday, was sent back to the pavilion for a golden duck by Deepak Chahar.

In an attempt to play a shot down the ground, Kohli was caught by Raj Bawa inside the 30-yard circle.

Kohli, who is RCB’s highest run-getter in IPL 2026, failed to open his account
in the last match as well. In that fixture, he played one dot ball before Prince Yadav breached his defence on the second ball.
This (duck on Sunday) is the second instance in which Virat Kohli scored ducks in successive IPL innings. In the 2022 edition as well, he scored back-to-back ducks against Lucknow Super Giants and Sunrisers Hyderabad.
