Actor and BJP MP Kangana Ranaut has come out in support of Bihar MLA and singer Maithili Thakur after her recent appearance in a luxury Rolls-Royce triggered criticism on social media.
Thakur was recently spotted arriving at Mumbai’s Lalbaugcha Raja in a blue Rolls-Royce Cullinan. Images and videos of the vehicle quickly circulated online, with some social media users questioning how the young politician could be seen with such an expensive car soon after entering politics.

Responding to the criticism, Kangana argued that public representatives should not be expected to give up their personal lives or comforts after entering politics.
“Some people a**** start to burn whenever they see politicians living a good
life (sic),” Kangana wrote on Instagram Stories on Sunday.
She further said politicians could maintain their careers and personal lives while serving the public. “We are not even interested in public money but to expect us to remain poor and lifeless is so irrational,” she said. “Why can’t we also live well?” she questioned.
Who Owns The Luxury Car?
The ownership of the Rolls-Royce seen with Thakur, however, has not been independently confirmed. Reports have also noted that there is no confirmation that the luxury SUV belongs to the MLA herself.
Thakur entered electoral politics ahead of the 2025 Bihar Assembly elections after joining the BJP. She contested from Alinagar and won with 84,915 votes, defeating RJD candidate Binod Mishra by 11,730 votes, becoming the youngest member of the new Bihar Assembly.
Before politics, Thakur had already established herself as a singer, performing in Maithili and Bhojpuri, along with devotional music. Her television breakthrough came with ‘Rising Star India’ in 2017, after which she expanded her following through online platforms, including YouTube.
