Recalls a Childhood Memory Inspired by Dharmendra
Abhay Verma posted a series of pictures: one of Dharmendra, another from the film Apne and a final photograph of himself with his father. Alongside the images, he wrote, “My Dharam Sir core memory! I was 11 and Offcourse with very little understanding of what parents mean or do for their kids & Sir’s film “Apne” had come. That’s the only film i ever saw with my Father (which surprises me now). I remember glancing at my father whenever Dharam sir would come onscreen making me realise what all a father does & goes through to raise their kids; Unconditionally! That night CHANGED SOMETHING & i never looked at my father with the same eyes.”
His post revealed how Apne profoundly shifted his understanding of his father’s sacrifices and unconditional love. Verma further expressed his lifelong wish to meet Dharmendra in person, saying, “I really really wish i could meet Sir just once, put my forehead to his feet and tell him this”.
