Singer Nick Jonas has opened up about the constant support he has received from his wife, actor Priyanka Chopra, throughout his career. Speaking on Late Night with Seth Meyers, the Jonas Brothers star shared how Priyanka is often the first person to hear his music and give honest feedback.
When host Seth Meyers asked if Priyanka hears his songs before anyone else, Nick replied, “She does, yeah.” Talking about her role as a sounding board, he added, “She’s incredible, because she’s really honest.” According to Nick, the Bajirao Mastani actor’s honesty and strong musical instincts have helped him make important career decisions.
How Priyanka Picked ‘Sucker’ Before Anyone Else
Nick revealed that Priyanka correctly identified Sucker as a hit long before
he believed in it himself. At the time, Nick was convinced another song, one he had written about Priyanka, should be released as the lead single. However, she disagreed and encouraged him to choose Sucker instead.
“She picked Sucker long before I thought it would be a hit,” Nick said. “She was right. And she’s been right about a lot of things.” The singer admitted that her advice has played a major role in shaping his music journey.

Nick Gets Emotional About Daughter Malti’s Birth
Nick has also spoken about one of the most emotional phases of his life, the birth of his daughter, Malti Marie Chopra Jonas. In a conversation on the Jay Shetty Podcast, he recalled how Malti was born prematurely under extremely intense circumstances.
The couple had been expecting their daughter to arrive later, but she was born weighing just 1 pound 11 ounces and required immediate medical care. Nick shared that watching doctors and nurses work to stabilise her was a deeply overwhelming experience.
12-Hour Hospital Shifts And A Life-Changing Journey
Due to COVID-19 restrictions, Nick and Priyanka took turns doing 12-hour shifts at the hospital for nearly three and a half months. He credited the NICU nurses for their tireless care and praised Malti’s strength during her long recovery. “She fought every day,” he said, adding that becoming a father has left him “awestruck.”
Nick Jonas and Priyanka Chopra married in 2018 and welcomed Malti in January 2022 via surrogacy. On the work front, Nick will next be seen alongside Paul Rudd in Power Ballad, scheduled for release on June 5.
