UP Man, Posing As Customer, Flees With Chains Worth Rs 4 Lakh. Internet Says ‘Pakka Koi Majboori Hogi’

A brazen daylight robbery took place in Uttar Pradesh’s Budaun district on Friday afternoon, where a man posing as a customer stole three gold chains from a jewellery shop. The shocking incident reportedly

occurred at around 11:30 am at the Jugal Kishore Prahladi Lal Jewellers in the Halwai Chowk area on November 28.

The thief, dressed in black jeans and a jacket, cleverly distracted the shopkeeper by asking to see various gold chains, and then swiftly grabbed three chains and made a run for it. The entire event was recorded by the shop’s security cameras, and the footage has since gone viral, sparking concern among local traders.

Man Steals 3 Gold Chains

The young man entered the store at around 11:30 am and asked to be shown gold chains weighing about one to one and a half tolas. While the shopkeeper was distracted by other customers, the accused seized the opportunity to snatch the chains and run. According to the jeweller, the stolen chains are estimated to be worth between Rs 4 lakh and Rs 4.5 lakh.

In the now-viral video, the man can be seen browsing through the design and, within seconds, sprinting out of the store with 3 chains. Another person in the shop attempted to chase the thief, but he escaped into the market crowd. The viral CCTV footage from the jewellery shop captures the shopkeeper’s visible shock and distress immediately after realising the man had fled with the gold chains.

Police Initiated Action

Police arrived at the location shortly after being notified and gathered evidence, which included surveillance footage. They also recorded the shopkeeper’s statement and launched an investigation to find the thief. Authorities have registered a case and stated that efforts are underway to trace the thief.

A comment read, “Koi baat nahin pakad liya jaega, ho sakta hai uske koi majboori rahee ho, kyonki chor aise nahin bhaagate aur na aise aate hain.”

UP Woman Stole Gold Necklace

In a similar incident earlier, a couple stole a gold necklace worth Rs 6 lakh, with the woman using her saree to conceal the item. The accused, who were identified as Poonam and Kamlesh from Gujarat, were later arrested. The police investigation revealed that the couple has a significant criminal history, with at least 15 prior cases registered against them across multiple states.
