Missing For 7 Years, Police Found Boy Living Under A Different Identity

In February 2025, a case of a missing child in Colorado became more intriguing after seven years of its unsolved nature. In Highlands Ranch, Abdul Aziz Khan was discovered alive at the age of 14. He had been kidnapped at the age of 7 in Atlanta, Georgia.

It all started with a seemingly routine law enforcement operation. The Douglas County Sheriff’s Office responded to a call made by the owner of a deserted home that was put up for sale on account of some unusual occurrences detected by security cameras. Upon arrival at the house, the officers found two children inside a car parked at the premises.

It was revealed that the person in question was Rabia Khalid, who is the non-custodial parent of the child named Aziz Khan. Rabia Khalid had an active warrant against her for the kidnapping of her son Aziz in 2017, which occurred during a custody battle, after which she went missing with the child.

One of the children at the location was identified as Aziz Khan. It was reported that he was healthy and was put under protective custody with another child.

Khalid and Elliot Blake Bourgeois, a man, were apprehended by the law enforcement officers from the site. It was said that the duo had been hiding using fake names and had probably moved from one place to another throughout the years, making the search more complicated.
