The new year is just around the corner, and movie buffs are looking forward to the movie releases in 2026. From superheroes and much-awaited sequels to spine-chilling horror and epic new stories – the upcoming year is gearing up to keep the audiences glued to the screens.

Michael (April 24)
This biographical musical drama follows the life of Michael Jackson. In the film Michael’s nephew Jaafar Jackson will portray the ‘king of pop’. Other cast members in the film include Nia Long, Laura Harrier, Juliano Krue Valdi, Miles Teller, and Colman Domingo.
Spider-Man: Brand New Day (July 31)
The fourth instalment of the MCU Spider-Man film series, Spider-Man: Brand New Day, stars Tom Holland
as Peter Parker alongside Zendaya, Jacob Batalon, Sadie Sink, Liza Colón-Zayas, Jon Bernthal, Mark Ruffalo, Michael Mando, Tramell Tillman, and Marvin Jones III.
The Devil Wears Prada 2 (May 1)
David Frankel’s much-awaited comedy drama The Devil Wears Prada 2 is all set to hit the theatres in 2026. In the sequel Meryl Streep, Anne Hathaway, Emily Blunt, Stanley Tucci, Tracie Thoms, and Tibor Feldman will reprise their roles from the previous film.
The Odyssey (July 17)
Christopher Nolan’s highly anticipated epic action fantasy The Odyssey stars Matt Damon as Odysseus, the Greek King of Ithaca. The plot revolves around his long journey home after the Trojan War.
The film features an ensemble cast, including Tom Holland, Robert Pattinson, Lupita Nyong’o, Zendaya, Anne Hathaway, Jon Bernthal, and Charlize Theron, among others.
Narnia: The Magician’s Nephew (November 26)
Directed by Greta Gerwig, the film is based on the 1955 novel The Magician’s Nephew from the children’s book series The Chronicles of Narnia by C.S. Lewis. The film stars Emma Mackey, Carey Mulligan, David McKenna and others in prominent roles.
Wuthering Heights (February 13)
Based on Emily Brontë’s classic Gothic drama, Wuthering Heights casts Margot Robbie and Jacob Elordi as Catherine Earnshaw and Heathcliff, respectively. The film also features Hong Chau, Shazad Latif, Alison Oliver, Martin Clunes, and Ewan Mitchell in supporting roles.
The Hunger Games: Sunrise on the Reaping (November 20)
Directed by Francis Lawrence, the film is based on the 2025 novel Sunrise on the Reaping by Suzanne Collins. The Hunger Games: Sunrise on the Reaping serves as a sequel to 2023’s The Hunger Games: The Ballad of Songbirds & Snakes.
The cast of the upcoming film includes Joseph Zada, Jesse Plemons, Ralph Fiennes, Kieran Culkin, Elle Fanning, Mckenna Grace, Maya Hawke, Whitney Peak, Kelvin Harrison Jr and Glenn Close.
Avengers: Doomsday (December 18)
Avengers: Doomsday is intended to be the fifth instalment in the Avengers film series. The film features a star-studded lineup including Chris Hemsworth, Vanessa Kirby, Anthony Mackie, Sebastian Stan, Paul Rudd, Wyatt Russell, Simu Liu, Florence Pugh, Kelsey Grammer, Lewis Pullman, Danny Ramirez, Joseph Quinn, Tom Hiddleston, Channing Tatum, Pedro Pascal, and Robert Downey Jr, among others.
Dune: Part Three (December 18)
Based on Frank Herbert’s 1969 novel Dune Messiah, Dune: Part Three is the third and final instalment in the Dune series. The film stars Timothée Chalamet, Zendaya, Florence Pugh, Jason Momoa, and Robert Pattinson, among others, in prominent roles.
Digger (October 2)
Tom Cruise is all set to be back on the big screens with the black comedy Digger. The film directed by Alejandro G. Inarritu also stars Jesse Plemons, Riz Ahmed, Sophie Wilde, Emma D’Arcy, Robert John Burke, Burn Gorman, Michael Stuhlbarg, and John Goodman in prominent roles.
