Amid the craze of Dhurandhar and Dhurandhar 2, author Harinder Sikka, whose book, Calling Sehmat, went on to become Alia Bhatt’s Raazi, has reacted to the possibility of a remake with Yami Gautam. This happened after he expressed his unhappiness with director Meghna Gulzar’s treatment of the protagonist.
Responding to his post, someone commented, “Let’s remake, sir. Yami is a perfectly capable artist to bear the weight. The real story needs to be heard by everyone without any manipulation or biases. We will support the GoFundMe campaign. Kindly consider.” Have a look at the thread here:
Sir, I don’t need money. Check up my background. But thanks for your offer.
Indeed Yami is a great actor. Her best is yet to come. https://t.co/eWPm2x3pok— Harinder

The author responded, “Sir, I don’t need money. Check up my background. But thanks for your offer. Indeed, Yami is a great actor. Her best is yet to come.” Someone else wrote, “Maybe a remake is in the cards?” The author gave a cryptic reply and wrote back, “No comments.” This has turned the rumour mills churning, although there has been no confirmation.

For the unversed, Sikka took to X, where he first shared a picture of a stack of books such as An Indian Spy In Pakistan, Plot, Lies & Deceit Pulwama & Balakot, Terrorism and Insurgency, Calling Sehmat, Mission Overseas, The Unending Game and The Spy Chronicles. A text overlay read: “Dhurandhar 2 gave you a cinematic glimpse. Here’s where the real story begins.”
“Calling Sehmat #Raazi ranks among the top books on espionage ever written, globally. It exposes Pakistan across border, hostile forces in Bollywood & a Punjab-based criminals within,” he wrote on X, formerly called Twitter. “Appointing Meghna Gulzar was my gravest misjudgment. Despite clear warnings, I failed to foresee how ideological bias would end up diminishing the true spirit of the protagonist,” he added.
Reflecting on the journey of Calling Sehmat, Sikka noted that nearly two decades since its release, the book continues to resonate with readers worldwide and remains among the bestsellers. Meanwhile, Meghna Gulzar and Alia Bhatt are yet to respond to the author’s comments.
