Flipkart has confirmed its next big shopping event, the Freedom Sale, an Independence Day-tied sale that opens to the public on August 8. Ahead of the launch, the platform has started teasing which categories and products will see price cuts, along with the bank offers shoppers can stack on top.
Flipkart Sale Start Date
While August 8 is the official start date, Flipkart Plus and Black members may get a head start, with early access reportedly opening a day sooner on August 7. Flipkart hasn’t said how long the sale will run once it begins, so anyone planning big purchases should keep an eye on the platform rather than assume a fixed window.
The bank offer worth knowing about
SBI credit card holders get the standout deal here: a flat 10 percent instant discount on purchases made during the sale, which also
extends to EMI transactions using an eligible SBI card. On top of that, Flipkart is expected to layer in exchange bonuses and EMI-based savings on select products, meaning the final price you pay could end up meaningfully lower than the listed sale price.
Flipkart hasn’t published final prices yet, but it has named a few products shoppers can expect to see discounted. On phones, the iPhone 17, Samsung Galaxy S25, and Motorola Edge 70 Fusion have all been flagged for deals. If you’re after a tablet, the Samsung Galaxy Tab A11+ has been called out too, and Flipkart is encouraging buyers to add it to their wishlist ahead of time so they’re ready when the sale goes live.
Beyond phones and tablets, Flipkart has confirmed discounts on Samsung’s 55-inch 4K TVs and the Samsung Galaxy Book 4. There’s also a hint that select boAt earphones could be priced under Rs 1,000 during the sale window, worth watching if you’re in the market for budget audio gear.
Flipkart has outlined several deal categories that will run through the sale, including India’s Top Deals, Deals of the Day, Price Crash, Rush Hours, Tick Tock Deals, and a dedicated Made in India section. Specific prices under each of these haven’t been revealed yet, but based on how Flipkart typically structures its sales, expect these to carry short, time-limited discounts rather than static pricing throughout the entire sale period.
