Couple Found Dead, Three Children Critical In Suspected Poisoning Case In Greater Noida

A husband and wife died, while their three children were hospitalised in critical condition, in a suspected case of poisoning. The incident took place in Sadallapur village. The family was found in an unconscious state after worried relatives alerted authorities on Thursday morning.

When police reached the spot, they found signs suggesting poisoning in all five family members, according to a report by the Hindustan Times.

On Thursday morning, around 8:30 AM, the child woke up and noticed that her parents were not responding. She then informed her grandfather, who lives nearby. Relatives soon raised an alarm, following which the police were informed.

While a probe into the matter is underway, the police suspect it to be a case of suicide-murder

by the parents.

The parents, aged 42 and 38, were rushed to a nearby hospital, where doctors declared them dead. Meanwhile, their three children, a 10-year-old daughter, an 8-year-old son, and a 4-year-old daughter, were later shifted to a hospital in Delhi in critical condition.

The police are looking into all possible angles, including whether the incident was a case of poisoning and if it involved an attempted murder-suicide by the parents. At present, investigators have found no signs of financial problems or any immediate reason that could have led to such a step.

Speaking about the incident, Additional Deputy Commissioner of Police (Central Noida) Santosh Kumar told the outlet that the situation is still unclear. “The matter is under investigation, but at present it appears to be a case of suicide,” he said.

Police said early findings suggest the family may have consumed a poisonous substance mixed with their dinner. Based on information provided by the 10-year-old daughter, investigators learned that the family had dinner together the previous night.

Forensic teams have collected samples from the house, and the bodies of the deceased have been sent for post-mortem examination. Authorities said they are waiting for forensic and autopsy reports to confirm the nature of the substance involved.

A further investigation into the matter is underway.
