Anurag Kashyap’s Nishaanchi has officially landed in theatres, and the buzz around it is only getting louder. Backed by Amazon MGM Studios India, the film blends action, drama, and comedy into a fast-paced, adrenaline-fueled ride. Alongside a star-studded ensemble, it also marks the striking debut of Aaishvary Thackeray in a double role. But it’s Vineet Kumar Singh, essaying the role of Zabardast Pehelwaan, who has emerged as one of the film’s emotional anchors.
Vineet Kumar Singh on working with Anurag Kashyap
Sharing his experience, Vineet Kumar Singh reflected on his collaboration with Anurag Kashyap, “I’ve always believed that sometimes, the quietest performances leave the strongest impressions. With Nishaanchi, the love I’ve received has
only reinforced the idea that a single sincere performance can transform the entire energy of a story. Working with Anurag Kashyap has always been about pushing boundaries. He doesn’t offer comfort; he strips it away so you can find truth. After Mukkabaaz, Anurag once again gave me the chance to revisit sport. This time it’s not the boxing ring but the akharas, and it reminded me of the discipline and rigor that first shaped me as a performer for this new role. He has a way of offering me roles that become memorable not just for the audiences, but for me as well.”

On becoming Zabardast Pehelwaan
To bring Zabardast Pehelwaan to life, Vineet immersed himself deeply in the world of kushti, “To embody this character, I went to kushti akhadas, trained my body anew, and learned the discipline of a wrestler. I chose to carry his pain more in silence than in words. For me, it was never about how much screen time I get; it’s about leaving a lasting impact. I’m deeply grateful that this performance has connected so powerfully with audiences and left an imprint that I cherish.”
A power-packed ensemble
Alongside Vineet, the film features Aaishvary Thackeray in a high-octane debut performance. Playing a double role, Thackeray shares screen space with Vedika Pinto, Monika Panwar, Mohammed Zeeshan Ayyub, and Kumud Mishra. The mix of fresh and seasoned talent, combined with Kashyap’s raw storytelling style, promises an unpredictable cinematic experience.
