Rajinikanth recently grabbed attention with his candid remarks on fame, criticism, and the constant scrutiny that comes with being a public figure. Speaking at an event, the actor shared his thoughts on the challenges of expressing himself publicly, highlighting how even the simplest words can often become a topic of discussion and debate.
Speaking at an event of his upcoming film, Dharman, Rajinikanth was seen saying, “I hesitate when I’m invited to speak. When I speak, it’s a problem. It’s a problem for me. It’s a problem for others. They will start spreading something. If I don’t speak, they ll ask why I’m not speaking. If I speak, they will ask why I’m speaking now. Some will say i shouldn’t have spoken. After a long time, I realized that
those who don’t like us won’t like anything we do or anything about us. It is foolish to think that those who like us will like us no matter what.” Kamal Haasan was also present at the event.
Dharman title reveal
Taking to their Instagram handle, Raaj Kamal Films International shared the first look poster. The poster showcases Rajinikanth in a powerful avatar, hinting at a character who is both a doctor and a rebel. As soon as the title was revealed, fans reacted with fire and heart emojis. One of the fans wrote, “It’s looking like legend Saravanan.” Another wrote, “Rajini Ranganathan.”
The film has witnessed several developments behind the scenes since its announcement. And now it looks like it is undergoing another creative reshuffle. The makers has officially announced Dragon and Oh My Kadavule director Ashwath Marimuthu as the film’s director.
The film was announced in January 2026 and has been tentatively titled Thalaivar 173. The announcement created huge excitement among fans, as it will be bringing together two legends of Tamil cinema, Rajinikanth and Kamal Haasan.
Jailer 2
Rajinikanth’s Jailer 2 is already among the most keenly awaited Tamil films currently in production, and the latest chatter around the sequel has only intensified the excitement. A new picture circulating online has sparked speculation that Hrithik Roshan may have arrived in Chennai to shoot a special cameo for the Nelson Dilipkumar directorial.
While the makers have not issued an official confirmation yet, reports suggest that Hrithik may be joining the film for a brief but important appearance. If true, the cameo will mark a major pan-India addition to a film that already carries enormous anticipation after the success of Jailer.
Jailer 2 is the sequel to Rajinikanth’s blockbuster action entertainer Jailer. Directed by Nelson Dilipkumar, the film will see Rajinikanth reprising his role as Muthuvel Pandian.
The sequel is expected to continue the story after the events of the first film, while expanding the world of the franchise with new characters and bigger action set pieces. The first film had become a massive success and was widely discussed for Rajinikanth’s screen presence, Nelson’s treatment and Anirudh Ravichander’s music.
Apart from Rajinikanth, Jailer 2 reportedly features Mithun Chakraborty, Vidya Balan, SJ Suryah and Suraj Venjaramoodu in key roles. Mohanlal and Shiva Rajkumar are also expected to reprise their characters from the first instalment.
