Sunderland midfielder Granit Xhaka ranked Manchester United star Bruno Fernandes as the best attacking midfielder in the Premier League, ahead of Liverpool wunderkind Florian Wirtz and Chelsea superstar Cole Palmer.
Xhaka, who made he move to the Black Cats on the back of a successful stint at Bayer Levekusen in Germany, where he clinched the Bundesliga title under the stewardship of Xabi Alonso, shared the locker room with Wirtz during the side’s maiden title-winning season.
However, Xhaka termed Fernandes as the best in the business of an attacking midfielder on English shores, backed by the Portuguese maestro’s showings since his arrival to a underperforming Manchester United from Sporting Lisbon.

Xhaka also went on to name the three best midfielders of all-time as he ranked French World Cup-winner Zinedine Zidane ahead of everyone else, with Croatian legend Luka Modric in second and Spanish midfield orchestrator Andres Iniesta in third.
Xhaka has been crucial for Sunderland’s positive start to the ongoing season of the Premier League with the Rokerites picking up 11 points in their first seven games of the season with 3 win, and a couple of draws and defeats each. Sunderland stand 9th in the PL table, one place ahead of Manchester United despite the Red Devils’ win over the Black Cats in the engagement between the clubs last time out as Ruben Amorim and Co. try to overturn their fortunes in the campaign ahead.
