Shanaya Kapoor is currently gearing up for her next release, Tu Yaa Main. The film promotions are going on. Amid this, she recently opened up about dealing with social media trolling and how comments about her appearance impact her. The actress makes it a point to read through the comments section and pays attention to both positive and negative feedback.
During an interview with Zoom, Shanaya opened up about how social media trolling and comments about her appearance affect her. She said, “I think that there are different kinds of comments. If it’s something to do with my work, if it’s feedback on how I’m dancing, how I’m performing, then even if it is really negative, even if it is said in a harsh manner, I take it as constructive feedback because
it’s what I owe to my audience. It’s to listen to them. Maybe it’s not said in the nicest way, and it can pinch you a little bit, but it’s a bit of a reality check.”
Bejoy Nambiar Reveals Shanaya Kapoor Broke Down During Shoot
In a recent interview with Hollywood Reporter India, director Bejoy Nambiar spoke about the experience, shared, “She has a fear of heights and closed spaces, being underwater, and she had to experience all those things for extended periods of time. She had to really overcome all of that, and not once did she complain.” That resolve held strong until the final day of the shoot, when the emotional and physical toll finally caught up with her. Recalling the moment, Bejoy revealed that Shanaya eventually “broke down,” leading the team to immediately halt filming.
Opening up about the sequence herself, Shanaya described an underwater scene that pushed her to a breaking point. Trapped beneath the water, surrounded by darkness, and unable to surface on the third take, the moment became overwhelming. “Those two seconds underwater felt like two minutes. I couldn’t exit; I felt trapped. So when I came out, I just started crying,” she said.
Tu Yaa Main, an official adaptation of the Thai film The Pool, is slated for release on February 13.
