New Delhi, Aug 10 (PTI) Three Delhi Police personnel acted swiftly to evacuate residents and prevent a fire from spreading after a blaze broke out at a house in Duggal Colony, police said on Monday.
The incident occurred in the Neb Sarai police station area in South Delhi and was apparently caused by a short circuit, they said.
Head Constables Jitender and Vishnu rushed towards the spot after learning about the fire from a resident, even before a PCR call was received, and immediately evacuated the occupants, a senior police officer said.
“Head Constable Vinod, who lives nearby and had just returned from out of station, also joined his colleagues in the rescue effort after being informed,” a senior police officer said.
The three personnel coordinated
the evacuation of residents, secured the area and took steps to disconnect the electrical supply to prevent the fire from escalating before the Delhi Fire Service arrived, police said.
Their prompt intervention prevented the blaze from spreading further and averted a potentially serious incident involving both human lives and property, the officer said. PTI BM ASD ASD
