All-rounder Nitish Kumar Reddy is part of India’s playing XI in the ongoing first Test against the West Indies. In the morning session of the third day’s play of the match taking place at Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad, Nitish made his presence felt on the field by taking a superb flying catch of West Indies opener Tagenarine Chanderpaul. After getting out for an 11-ball duck in the first innings, Chanderpaul could only manage to score 8 runs from 23 balls in the second.
On the second ball of the eighth over of West Indies’ second innings, Nitish completed his catch off Mohammed Siraj’s bowling.
The clip of Nitish’s super effort on the field to add one more wicket to Siraj’s tally is now going viral on the internet.

The wicket of Chanderpaul on Saturday is Siraj’s fifth dismissal in the ongoing match. The Hyderabad-based pacer picked up 4 wickets for 40 runs in the first innings on Thursday (October 2).
No batting for NKR
Reddy, who scored his maiden Test century for India last year at Melbourne Cricket Ground against Australia, didn’t get a chance to bat in the first innings. He was scheduled to come out to bat at No. 8 for the Shubman Gill-led side, but before his chance could come, the Indian team declared their first innings.
India declare
India declared their first innings on overnight score of 448 for 5 with a sizeable lead of 286 runs against the West Indies at the start of the third day of the opening Test on Saturday.
India’s innings was headlined by centuries from KL Rahul (100), Dhruv Jurel (125) and Ravindra Jadeja (104 not out).
The reason for declaration on overnight score was to utilise any help on offer from a morning track.
