Thane, May 6 (PTI) A 15-year-old boy died after he lost his balance while playing football near his home in Thane district and fell on a metal railing which pierced his left chest, police said on Wednesday.
The tragic incident took place in Kalyan on Tuesday evening and the deceased was identified by police as Kaksh Navnath Patil.
The boy was playing football on a ground near his residence with other children when he lost his balance and collided with an adjacent metal railing, which pierced his left chest. He was immediately rushed to a hospital in Kalyan by his family members, said police.
Despite medical intervention in the ICU, the boy succumbed to severe internal bleeding and was declared dead at 10:45 pm by doctors, they added.
“A case of
accidental death has been registered, and an investigation was being carried out by police. The family has no suspicion of foul play,” said an officer from the Khadakpada Police Station. PTI COR RSY
